Childhood stardom can’t be all bad when it earns you an Olivier Award and loads of adoring fans. Liam Mower, one of the original trio of Billys in the musical Billy Elliot, received that great honor at the ripe young age of 12 (along with James Lomas and George Maguire). Mower is still currently dancing his heart out in the show, which is based on the beloved film of the same name, and alternating with six other boys. With the successful production celebrating its birthday on 12 May, how does the young star feel to be a part of it? Is he planning on a career in the theatre, or is his heart forever in formal dance? Mower took time out of his busy schedule to answer your questions. Read on!
From David: What was it like rehearsing with fellow original Billys, George and James, again in preparation for the birthday gala?
Liam responds: It was great to work with George and James again, and preparing for the Gala was really exciting for us, we had a great night
From Kelshi: Liam, congrats on winning your Olivier Award. What's been the best part of the whole Billy Elliot experience?
Liam responds: Thank you! That’s a tough question, because since being in Billy Elliot, I’ve done so many things I’ve only ever dreamt of!
From Sally Juniper: Have you got any advice for boys who want to dance, but maybe get a hard time from friends and family?
Liam responds: I just say dance. It’s only a hobby and people have different tastes in what they want to do. No one will upset them any way, prove them all wrong!
From Nick: What's the funniest unexpected thing that's happened during a performance?
Liam responds: In the previews, on stage the trap door didn’t close and it was pretty scary at the time, but now I just laugh about it.
From Millie: How does it feel to be the only original Billy left?
Liam responds: I feel lucky to have got the role so young, which has enabled me to carry on.

Liam responds: I like loads of musicals such as Spamalot, Wicked, Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, The Rat Pack and Moulin Rouge. I couldn’t pick one as my favourite.
From Paul: With the lack of free time on your hands, do you ever get a chance to go out for a proper meal in a restaurant? If so, what would be your favourite meal be?
Liam responds: We do get to go out to eat, on weekends all of the children in Billy Elliot get to go out for a really big, fatty meal! My favourite meal is lamb.
From Leyla: You are one hell of a performer—you’re my idol! What do all your mates think of your dancing? Do they support you? Thanks, keep dancing, dude!
