Kevin McNally
Kevin McNally
Pirates of the Caribbean
star Kevin McNally is joining the cast of hit West End comedy Boeing-Boeing. McNally will take over the role of philandering Parisian playboy Bernard from Adrian Dunbar for four weeks from 3 September. He joins current cast members Doon Mackichan, Amy Nuttall, Rhea Perlman, Elena Roger and Neil Stuke.

McNally’s film credits include the role of Gibbs, Captain Jack Sparrow’s first mate in The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, De-Lovely, The Phantom of the Opera, Johnny English, Sliding Doors, Irish Jam and Entrapment. He has recently completed filming Bryan Singer’s Valkyrie, with a cast led by Tom Cruise. His theatre credits include World Music for the Donmar Warehouse, The Lady in the Van at the Queens Theatre, Naked for the Almeida Theatre Company, Dead Funny and Plunder at the Savoy Theatre and Exact Change for the Lyric Hammersmith. His television credits include Life On Mars, Bloodlines, Dunkirk, Spooks, Shackleton, Rab C Nesbitt, Enigma and Diana.

Boeing-Boeing centres on Bernard, who has devised a sophisticated timetable with his housekeeper to organise his simultaneous affairs with three air hostesses; one Italian, one German and one American. They each work for different airlines and spend the night at his apartment whenever they stop over. Each believes she is the only one, but the subterfuge is threatened when there’s a change of flight schedule for one of the girlfriends and the arrival of old friend Robert, who wants to stay at the apartment for a day or two.

[AD]Translated by Beverley Cross from Mark Camoletti’s original, Matthew Warchus’ production of Boeing-Boeing opened at the Comedy Theatre in February and is designed by Rob Howell, with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, original music by Claire van Kampen and sound by Simon Baker.
