Simon MacCorkindale

Television star Simon MacCorkindale will join the cast of The Sound of Music as Captain Georg von Trapp later this summer. The actor, who will star opposite Summer Strallen as Maria, begins performances on August 25.
MacCorkindale is best known for playing Harry Harper on the popular television series Casualty. His other television credits include Obsessive Love, Falcon's Gold, Quatermass, Jesus of Nazareth, Gemini and Dynasty. He made his West End debut in Pygmalion and went on to direct a number of stage productions, including The Merchant of Venice at Los Angeles' Globe Theatre.
Also joining the cast on August 25 will be Rebecca Lucie, who takes on the role of Liesl, and Nadim Naaman, who will play Rolf. The Sound of Music continues to star Margaret Preece as Mother Abbess, Fiona Sinnott as The Baroness and Paul Grunert as Max.
