in Avenue Q
The West End production of Avenue Q has announced a closing date. Now in its third year, the musical will play its final performance at the Noel Coward Theatre on March 28, 2009.

Avenue Q features a score by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, a book by Jeff Whitty and direction by Jason Moore. It currently stars Daniel Boys as Princeton and Rod, Rebecca Lock as Kate Monster, Mark Goldthorp as Nicky and Trekkie Monster, Christopher Fry as Brian, Yanle Zhong as Christmas Eve, Edward Baruwa as Gary and Jacqui Sanchez as Mrs. T. Original star Julie Atherton will return to the cast on December 1 play Kate Monster. Also joining the cast on that date will be Joanna Ampil as Christmas Eve and Rachel Jerram as Mrs. T.

Set in a neighborhood in New York City, Avenue Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college graduate, has just moved into the neighborhood as he desperately tries to follow his dreams and discover his ever-elusive purpose in life. A tiny bank balance, the distraction of a busty blonde and a variety of weird and wonderful friends and neighbours lead Princeton on a hilarious story of self-discovery.

The winner of the 2004 Tony Award for Best Musical, Avenue Q is currently playing at Broadway's John Golden Theatre. Next up at the Noel Coward Theatre will be the stage version of the award-winning film Calendar Girls, which is set to begin performances on April 4.
