Connie Fisher
Connie Fisher, winner of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, will reprise the role of Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music national tour. The tour is set to begin at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on July 26, 2009.

After winning the reality casting competition, Fisher went on to originate the role of Maria in the West End revival of The Sound of Music, in which she played the part for 18 months. Since departing the production, she has starred in They're Playing Our Song opposite Alistair McGowan at the Menier Chocolate Factory. She is set to star in ITV's Caught in the Trap this holiday season.

The Sound of Music features music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, with a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, suggested by The Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp. The current West End revival is set to end its run at the Palladium on February 28, 2009.

Following Cardiff, the tour will go to Bradford for September 2-26 and Southampton for September 29-October 24. Further dates and cities are to be announced.
