Wilson, who comes from Doncaster, is the 30th actor to play Billy worldwide. After beginning dancing at the age of nine, he trained in ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary dance. Prior to joining the West End company, he spent nearly two years preparing for the role.
Riding has been seen on stage in Me and My Girl, Carousel, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, The Witches of Eastwick, A Little Night Music, Lady Be Good and Martin Guerre. Caffrey returns to Billy Elliot after having played the role of Tony, Billy's brother. His theater credits include Love's Labour Lost, We are the People, Cooking with Elvis, Charlie's Trousers, Dirty Nets, Close the Coalhouse Door and more.

The new cast members join Tom Holland, Tanner Pflueger and Fox Jackson-Keen, who alternate the role of Billy, Craig Gallivan as Tony, Ann Emery as Grandma, Trevor Fox as George, Sean Kingsley as Mr. Braithwaite, Stephanie Putson as Mum and Barnaby Meredith as Older Billy. Also in the cast are Dean-Charles Chapman, George Maycock and Lewis Cope, who alternate as Michael, and Annabelle Crosby-Stewart, Scarlet Embleton and Megan Jossa, who alternate as Debbie.

Based on the popular movie of the same name, Billy Elliot currently plays at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the West End, as well as in Sydney, Australia and on Broadway.
