Legendary singer Jimmy Osmond is set to star as Billy Flynn in the UK national tour of Chicago. The tour begins at the Alhambra in Bradford on March 9 and will run through June 13, where it ends at the Hippodrome in Birmingham. Osmond, who has signed on for the duration of the tour, will be joined by Emma Barton as Roxie Hart.
Best known for being the youngest member of the world-famous Osmond Family, Jimmy Osmond is currently making his West End debut as Teen Angel in Grease. He made his UK stage debut in 2004 when he appeared in Boogie Nights and was later a contestant on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. As a solo recording artist, he enjoyed success with the song "Long Haired Lover From Liverpool" and has earned six gold records, one platinum record and two gold albums.
Emma Barton is known for playing Honey Mitchell on EastEnders. On stage, she has been seen as Peggy in The Secret Garden, Norma Cassidy in Victor/Victoria and Marty in Grease. Her other television credits include Spooks and Secret History.
After Bradford, the tour of Chicago will move on to the Princess Theatre in Torquay (March 24-28), Sunderland Empire (March 30-April 4), Liverpool Empire (April 6-11), York Grand Opera House (April 20-25), New Theatre Oxford (April 27-May 2), Regent Theatre Stoke-on-Trent (May 4-9), Leicester De Montford Hall (May 11-16), Edinburgh Playhouse (May 18-23), Kings Theatre Southsea (May 25-30) and finally the Birmingham Hippodrome (June 1-13).
