Alexia Khadime in
Wicked
Alexia Khadime is set to rejoin the West End cast of Wicked as Elphaba on May 11. She will replace current star Kerry Ellis, who will depart the production on May 9.

Khadime first starred as Elphaba in London's Wicked in June 2008, replacing Ellis after she left the company to join the Broadway cast. She made her West End debut in The Lion King in 2001, when she was 17. Khadime returned to the show in May 2005 to star as Nala. Her other theater roles include Candy in the national tour of Whistle Down The Wind, Ronnie Spector in the national tour of Leader of the Pack and Cinderella The Musical at the Hackney Empire. Her television appearances include two series of Grange Hill; Tanisha in Cleopatra Comin’ Atcha (ITV1) and Sophie Thompson in Dream Team.

As previously reported, Ellis will be performing a series of concerts celebrating the British songbook on June 20 and 21 at the Shaw Theatre.

Currently playing at the West End's Apollo Victoria Theatre, Wicked stars Ellis as Elphaba, Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, Oliver Thompsett as Fiyero, Harriet Thorpe as Madame Morrible, Desmond Baritt as The Wizard, Caroline Keiff as Nessarose, Jeremy Legat as Boq and Andy Mace as Doctor Dillamond.
