Sam Kelly and Natalie Anderson are set to join the cast of the West End production of Wicked. Kelly will take on the role of The Wizard with Anderson playing Nessarose. Both begin performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre on May 11.
Kelly is best known for his appearances on the popular televisions series Porridge, 'Allo, 'Allo, On the Up and Barbara. He's been seen on stage at the National Theatre in The Homecoming, War and Peace and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Anderson has played Nurse Stella Davenport on ITV's The Royal since 2004 and has also been seen on the BBC children's series The Biz.
As previously reported, Alexia Khadime is also set to return to the cast as Elphaba on May 11, replacing Kerry Ellis. Current ensemble members Alex Jessop and David Stoller will take over the roles of Boq and Doctor Dillamond respectively on the same date.
Currently playing at the West End's Apollo Victoria Theatre, Wicked stars Ellis as Elphaba, Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, Oliver Thompsett as Fiyero, Harriet Thorpe as Madame Morrible, Desmond Baritt as The Wizard, Caroline Keiff as Nessarose, Jeremy Legat as Boq and Andy Mace as Doctor Dillamond.
