Gary Wilmot
|
West End star Gary Wilmot will play Billy Flynn on the U.K. tour of Chicago. He joins EastEnders star Emma Barton as Roxie Hart, beginning June 15, 2009.
Wilmot is best known for his roles in West End musicals such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Me and My Girl, Carmen Jones and Cocacabana. On tour, he has been seen in Oliver!, Half a Sixpence, One For the Road, Confusions and Travels with My Aunt. He recently starred as The Lion in The Wizard of Oz at Royal Festival Hall.
Emma Barton is known for playing Honey Mitchell on EastEnders. On stage, she has been seen as Peggy in The Secret Garden, Norma Cassidy in Victor/Victoria and Marty in Grease. Her other television credits include Spooks and Secret History.
In addition to previously announced dates, the U.K. tour of Chicago is scheduled to play Wycombe (June 15-20), Hull (JUne 22-27), Northampton (July 6-11), Nottingham (July 13-18), Bristol (July 20-25), Bournemouth (July 27-August 1), Llandudno (August 3-8), Plymouth (August 10-22), Belfast (August 24-September 5), Dublin (September 7-19), Southend (September 22-26), Sheffield (September 28-October 3), Glasgow (October 5-10), Crawley (October 12-17), Manchester (October 27-November 7) and Aberdeen (November 16-21).
The tour began on March 9, starring Barton as Roxie Hart and Jimmy Osmond as Billy Flynn. Osmond plays his final performance on June 13.
