Robert Van Winkle will make his stage debut as Captain Hook.

Former rapper Vanilla Ice (aka Robert Van Winkle) will soon make his U.K. stage debut playing Captain Hook in the Chatham Central Theatre pantomime production of Peter Pan. The show will begin its run in Chatham, Kent, on December 9, 2011, and will run through January 2.

This will be the first stage appearance for Van Winkle, most famous for his 1991 hit "Ice Ice Baby," though it will not be his first experience acting. His screen credits include the 1991 star vehicle film Cool as Ice, and plenty of experience in the reality television world, including a stint on VH1’s The Surreal Life, his 2010 home improvement show The Vanilla Ice Project and a recent turn on British reality favorite, Dancing on Ice. He will also participate in a U.K. tour for the skating program beginning in April.

Van Winkle follows the footsteps of former Captain Hooks including Happy Days actor and Broadway vet Henry Winkler.
