Wicked, the witchiest show in the West End, bid farewell to Tony-winning original star Idina Menzel and a hearty welcome to new star Kerry Ellis. Ellis’ theatre credits include playing Fantine Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre and Ellen in the national tour of Miss Saigon as well as understudying the role of Eliza Dolittle in My Fair Lady at the National Theatre and Drury Lane, but she is perhaps best known for creating the role of Meat in the original London cast of We Will Rock You. Now Ellis is playing Elphaba in the smash hit musical at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Here’s a look at the new star in all her fine greenery.
