The people of Thebes look to Oedipus to lift a terrible curse from them and their city. He consults the oracle and learns that he must root out the late king's murderer. But his relentless interrogation of one man after another leads inexorably, and in the space of a single day, to his own savage conclusion.

Fiennes is best known for his Oscar-nominated performances in Schindler's List and The English Patient. He was recently seen on stage as Frank Hardy in The Faith Healer in Dublin and on Broadway.
Clare Higgins as Jocasta
Higgins has won the Olivier Award several times for her roles in Hecuba, Vincent in Brixton and Sweet Bird of Youth. She has also been seen on TV in Cover Her Face, Pride and Prejudice, The Citadel and the comedy Up Line.
