Bonnie Langford Skates into Chicago as Roxie Hart

Bonnie Langford
Bonnie Langford is set to star in the West End's Chicago. She will replace Linzi Hateley in the role of Roxie Hart beginning on 18 April.

Langford, a West End veteran, recently placed third in the celebrity television ice-skating competition Dancing on Ice. She first appeared on stage at the age of seven in a musical version of Gone with the Wind at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. She subsequently appeared in the TV mini-series Just William in 1976, and in Alan Parker’s film musical, Bugsy Malone, that same year. Five years later, she was part of the original London cast of Cats, originating the role of Rumpleteazer amongst at the New London Theatre in 1981. Langford has been a regular fixture on the West End stage in the years since, where she has had featured roles in such productions as Me and My Girl, The Pirates of Penzance, Peter Pan – the Musical and Sweet Charity.

Chicago, which opened at the Adelphi Theatre in November 1997, will be moving to the Cambridge Theatre (where the original production of the musical received its West End premiere in 1979 and ran for 609 performances) on 28 April. It is doing so to make way for a revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita, which is scheduled to open in June.
