To celebrate the first anniversary of
Billy Elliot in the West End, the original trio of performers that played the title role will appear together for the first time at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
James Lomas, George Maguire and Liam Mower, who jointly won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for their shared role of Billy Elliot, will appear together in the show on 12 May. Each boy will play Billy in alternating scenes throughout the performance.
"It seemed only fitting to bring back the original boys for Billy's birthday, and I am delighted that James, George and Liam are able to return and collectively recreate the magic that contributed to the show's initial success,” director Stephen Daldry said in a statement. “I can't wait to see the show with the three of them together."
Lomas, who is now 16, and Maguire, who is 15, have both already departed the musical, but 13-year-old Mower is still performing the title role.
