Chicago Alumni Darius Danesh and Jennifer Ellison to Return to the Show, Plus Casualty’s Ian Kelsey
Giving 'em the old razzle dazzle, two former Chicago stars are set to return to the show. Darius Danesh—who shot to fame through TV's Pop Idol and appeared in Chicago in 2005—returns as Billy Flynn for three weeks from 17 June to 8 July. He joins a cast that currently includes Bonnie Langford as Roxie Hart.
Langford, in turn, is being replaced by returning star Jennifer Ellison, who takes over from 10 July, for a season to 12 August. Ellison, who first played the role in 2004, was seen in the film version of The Phantom of the Opera and is best known for her starring role in the TV series Brookside.
Ian Kelsey joins Ellison from 10 July to play Billy Flynn. Previously seen as Danny Zuko in Grease at the Cambridge Theatre, Kelsey did a three-year stint in TV's Casualty (playing Dr Patrick Spiller), and has also been seen in Down to Earth, Hotel Babylon and Emmerdale on TV.
Amra-Faye Wright continues as Velma Kelly, as does Brenda Edwards as Mama Morton and Victor McGuire as Amos Hart.
