The original London production of Les Miserables, now playing at the Queen's Theatre, will welcome back two former alums to the cast on 26 June. Hans Peter Janssens, who has previously played Jean Valjean in the show's earlier run at the Palace Theatre, is returning now as Javert; he will become the first actor to have played both roles in the West End. Jon Lee, the former member of pop group S Club 7 and a child star who previously played the title role of Oliver! in Cameron Mackintosh's London Palladium revival of the Lionel Bart musical, returns to play Marius, a role that he previously played at both the Palace and Queen's Theatre.
Also returning to the show is Sophia Ragavelas who previously played Eponine at both the Palace and Queen's. She will now play Fantine; while a former Young Cosette, Sabrian Aloueche, will graduate to play Eponine.
They are newly joined by Simon Bailey as Enjolras, Chris Vincent as Thenardier, and Gina Beck as Cosette. John Owen-Edwards and Tracie Bennett continue in their roles as Jean Valjean and Madame Thenardier, respectively.
