Lara Pulver
Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years, first produced in Chicago in 2001 and subsequently seen at off-Broadway’s Minetta Lane Theatre in 2002, will receive its British premiere at south London’s Menier Chocolate Factory. It opens there on 25 July (following previews from 18 July).

This one-act musical, which chronicles the rise and fall of a marriage from both partners’ points of view across a five year period, will star Damian Humbley and Lara Pulver. It is directed by Matthew White, with designs by David Farley (who previously designed Sunday in the Park with George at the Menier that has now transferred to the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre).

Australian-born Humbley moved to the U.K. last year, and took over the role of Walter Hartwright in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Woman in White. In Australia, he has played leading roles in Urinetown and Passion. Pulver has been seen in the West End in Grease, where she played Frenchie, but most of her credits are in regional theatre, ranging from tours of Miss Saigon, High Society, The Boyfriend, Chicago and Honk! to the Sheffield Crucible production of A Chorus Line.

The Last Five Years is booking initially to 30 September.
