Two Actors Injured During Rehearsals for West End’s Joseph Revival

Joseph Star Lee Mead
Two members of the supporting cast of the imminent West End revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have been injured by part of the production’s moving set.

The Sun reported that the two actors had their toes crushed by a moving staircase, and quoted a show source as saying, "There is a lot of mechanical scenery, and the cast have to get out of the way. But two people didn't move quickly enough and had their feet crushed." Neither of the two actors is said to be seriously injured.

The incident follows just weeks after actor Adam Slater’s leg became trapped in the hydraulic stage at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane during a preview performance of The Lord of the Rings, forcing the show to close for two days.
