Any Dream Will Do Runner-up Chalmers Stars in U.K. Tour of Joseph

Craig Chalmers, a contestant in the TV casting contest show Any Dream Will Do, which was used to cast the title role for the West End revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, will play Joseph onstage soon, despite losing out to Lee Mead in Any Dream Will Do's public phone vote.

While Mead will lead the cast in a recreation of Steven Pimlott’s production at the West End's Adelphi Theatre from 6 July (prior to an official opening on 17 July), Chalmers—who finished 5th in the TV show—will play Joseph in the latest version of Bill Kenwright’s long-running regional touring production. It launches a new tour at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on 20 August, prior to travelling to Bath, Brighton, Cheltenham, King’s Lynn, High Wycombe, Plymouth, Derry, Dublin, Aberdeen, Cardiff and Sheffield, ending on 8 December.

25-year-old Edinburgh-based Chalmers used to perform with a male strip troupe called G Force, in which he sang while the rest of the troupe disrobed. The group appeared at ladies nights, cabaret nights and holiday parks. He also used to be part of boyband No Reason, who had a top ten hit and performed at the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh and Hampden Stadium alongside Blue, McFly, Sugarbabes and Girls Aloud.
