Linzi Hateley in Mamma Mia!
The hit Abba musical Mamma Mia! is set to establish two records in August. On 18 August, it becomes the longest-ever running show to play at the Prince of Wales Theatre, overtaking the previous record held by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love. Less than a week later, on 23 August, it celebrates its 3,500th performance in London, chalked up both at the Prince of Wales and its original London home, the Prince Edward.

The show, which has been running in the West End for eight years now, previously set the record for the highest-ever weekly gross taken in the history of the Prince of Wales for the week ending 16 April in 2006, and also had the highest-ever performance take at the theatre on 5 May 2006, which has subsequently been repeated at three further performances.

[AD]Mamma Mia! currently features Linzi Hateley as Donna Sheridan, Joanna Monro as Rosie and Jane Gurnett as Tanya, with Iain Fletcher as Sam Carmichael, Steven Finch as Harry Bright, Paul Hawkyard as Bill Austin, Hannah Robertson as Sophie Sheridan, Paul Shelford as Sky, Lucy Miller as Ali, Tanya Robb as Lisa, Ben Heathcote as Pepper and Kieran Jae as Eddie. At certain performances, the role of Donna Sheridan will be played by Lucy Harris.
