The West End production of
Chicago is about to get new leads. Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Rachel McDowall are joining the cast at the Cambridge Theatre from 25 February.
Sørensen, who will star as Roxie Hart, previously played the role in the Copenhagen production of Chicago. She has also appeared in Danish productions of The Winter’s Tale and Cabaret. McDowall, who will take on the role of Velma Kelly, has starred as Ulla in the West End production of The Producers and will shortly be seen playing Lisa in the film version of Mamma Mia!
The London production of Chicago will continue to star Terence Maynard as Billy Flynn, Paul Rider as Amos Hart, Zee Asha as Mama Morton and MM Dugdale as Mary Sunshine.
