Gone With the Wind's Jill Paice Misses Performances

Jill Paice
Jill Paice, currently starring as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind, has been diagnosed with a throat infection that has caused her to miss the past two performances.

Understudy Savannah Stevenson will perform the role of O'Hara during Paice's absence. It is unclear at this time when Paice will be able to return to the musical, which opened to mixed reviews this past week.

Set in 1860s Atlanta, Gone with the Wind follows the story of the 17-year-old Scarlett O’Hara, the eldest of three daughters living a life of luxury on their father’s plantation. When President Lincoln demands the end of slavery in the South, the Civil War begins and Scarlett’s life and that of her family are thrown into turmoil. Her tempestuous relationship with army captain Rhett Butler serves as a metaphor for the irrevocable changes being wrought upon America itself.

Gone With the Wind stars Darius Danesh as Rhett Butler, Edward Baker-Duly as Ashley Wilkes, Madeline Worrall as Melanie Willkes, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Mammy and Jina Burrows as Prissy. The musical is currently playing at the New London Theatre.
